Adams Moving To Coaching Role
Release: 08/01/2013
CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina junior Whitney Adams will no longer compete for the Tar Heels due to injury but will remain with the program as an undergraduate assistant, head coach Sylvia Hatchell announced Thursday. Adams, who appeared in seven games in 2012-13 and averaged 2.3 points and 1.6 rebounds, has been plagued by shoulder injuries throughout her time in Chapel Hill.

"I love my team and always will," Adams said. "I've had a great experience these past two years, and I will continue to make great memories with this team but just in a different capacity."

"We appreciate all the hard work that Whitney has put in as a player, but unfortunately her shoulder will not allow her to continue participating on the college level," Hatchell said. "She will still be an important part of our program as an undergraduate assistant and we are excited about having her around again this season."
