CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Eve Rackham has been promoted to assistant head coach, Carolina head volleyball coach Joe Sagula announced Monday.

Rackham is entering her fifth season at UNC, spending the last four seasons as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Tar Heels.

"I'm so excited to promote Eve to this position," Sagula said. "It's obviously well-desereved, as she has worked tirelessly for this program the past four years. This position is one that recognizes her contributions and her importantce to our program in being a leader on staff with me. She is recognized as one of the top assistants in the country, and I'm excited that she's here for a fifth season.

"Eve has brought us a tremendous amount of stability, and this is a very well-deserved promotion. I'm looking forward to her contributions in the years to come," Sagula said.

As a former standout Carolina volleyball player, Rackham was a four-year starting setter from 1999-2002, and led the Tar Heels to three ACC Tournament Championships and a regular season title in 2002.

Rackham began her coaching career at Colgate in 2004, and then spent three seasons at East Carolina and a year at Florida International University before returning to UNC as an assistant in 2009.
