Myers Set To Join Heels For 2014 Season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- North Carolina baseball head coach Mike Fox announced the addition of Wood Myers to the Tar Heels for the 2014 season on Thursday.

Myers is an infielder from nearby Jordan High School in Durham, N.C. and is coached by former Tar Heel Devy Bell. The 5-foot-9 180-pound Myers is ranked the No. 8 player in the state of North Carolina by Perfect Game and earned All-State honors in 2012 in addition to being named the 2012 Pac 6 Player of the Year.

Myers is ranked No. 369 in the country according to Perfect Game and has been an all-region selection by Rawlings the last two years. Rawlings also recognized Myers on its Atlantic Region All-America team prior to the 2013 season.

Myers joins a talented group of recruits for the 2014 season.
