CHAPEL HILL - Saturday's Atlantic Coast Conference women's lacrosse game between North Carolina and Maryland is shaping up to be one of the biggest Tar Heel games in years. Maryland is the top-ranked team in the nation in both the deBeer Women's Media Poll and the IWLCA coaches poll, and the Tar Heels are ranked No. 2 in both polls.
Maryland has held down the top spot for over a month. Carolina moved up to No. 2 from No. 3 after winning on the road at No. 6 Duke last weekend. Florida had been ranked second last week before losing to Penn State last weekend.
The top five teams in the media poll are Maryland, UNC, Northwestern, Florida and Duke, respectively. To view the entire deBeer Media Poll, click here.
