Tar Heels Look For Ninth Win In A Row

CHAPEL HILL - The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team will try to win its ninth game in a row when it hosts Boston College on Saturday evening at Fetzer Field at 7pm.  The third-ranked Tar Heels have won eight consecutive outings since losing their season opener to Florida on Feb. 9.  

Saturday's game will be streamed live by ESPN3, with Kyle Straub and Keith Barnes on the call.

The game will be the first of four consecutive Alantic Coast Conference games for Carolina.  After the the contest against BC, the Tar Heels will hit the road for three in a row at Duke (next Thursday March 28), at Virginia Tech (Saturday March 30) and at Maryland (Saturday April 6).  

UNC's only remaining regular season home game after the contest against the Eagles will come on April 12 against Jacksonville.  Carolina also will host the the 2013 ACC Tournament on April 25-28 at Fetzer Field.

The Tar Heels' eight-game winning streak includes victories over top-ranked Northwestern and ranked opponents Cornell, Georgetown, Penn and Virginia.  On Wednesday night, Carolina scored the last four goals of the game and came from behind to beat 10th-ranked Cornell.
