RALEIGH, N.C. --- No. 1 North Carolina returns to Atlantic Coast Conference competition Thursday when the Tar Heels face No. 40 NC State at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. Carolina is 14-1 on the season and 1-0 in the ACC while the Wolfpack is off to a 10-1 start, its best since 1995.
UNC is coming off a pair of 5-2 nonconference wins over No. 29 Baylor and No. 21 Texas Tech. Five Tar Heels still have perfect singles records this spring, with No. 30 Caroline Price leading the way with a 13-0 mark. No. 23 Whitney Kay (10-0) and No. 123 Ashley Dai (9-0) are also unbeaten, while Gina Suarez-Malaguti continues to be ranked No. 4 in the nation in the ITA singles poll.
No. 63 Joelle Kissell leads the Wolfpack with a 10-1 record at the top of the singles lineup, while Chloe Smith is 10-0 at the No. 6 position.
