No. 1 North Carolina (16-0, 3-0 ACC) continues a six-game homestand Friday when the Tar Heels host No. 29 Miami (14-5, 1-2 ACC) in the ACC home opener at Boshamer Stadium.
The series opens up Friday night at 7 p.m. with junior left-hander Kent Emanuel (3-0, 0.56 ERA) taking on Miami's southpaw Chris Diaz (1-1, 1.44 ERA).
Saturday's contest is set for 6 p.m. with sophomore right-hander Benton Moss (4-0, 2.62 ERA) getting the call against junior right-hander Javi Salas (2-1, 2.53 ERA) of Miami.
The series finale will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Tar Heels sending junior left-hander Hobbs Johnson (0-0, 4.22 ERA) to face Miami's left-hander Andrew Suarez.
With the ACC opening series beginning, one of the newest additions to Boshamer Stadium will be debuted this weekend as the third base concession area will feature $10 tailgate specials each and every ACC weekend series.
This weekend the tailgate special will be a jerk-spiced half chicken with red beans and rice, braised greens and a drink.
Fans attending Friday's game will receive the first edition of the Carolina Baseball trading card set, featuring current Tar Heels and former Tar Heel greats.
Saturday will be Boy Scouts Night at Boshamer Stadium as the first 200 kids who register will receive "NC" patches and kids will take the field with the Tar Heels before first pitch.
Following Sunday's series finale, kids will have the chance to run the bases and fans of all ages will have the chance to "Meet The Heels" and get autographs from the 2013 Tar Heels.
All three games this weekend will be shown live on ESPN3.
