Under the direction of second-year coach Larry Fedora, the North Carolina football team starts its spring football practice period Wednesday, March 6 and will hold the annual Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 13, at 3 p.m. at Kenan Stadium.

Admission to the Spring Game is free, and will feature Fedora's up-tempo no-huddle offense and attacking defensive scheme. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.com.
Pregame fan activities at the Spring Game begin at 11 a.m. at the Bell Tower Park in front of Kenan Football Center with live music, food vendors, merchandise tents and interactive games. An autograph session with UNC players will also be held from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Additional activities, including the General Alumni Association Bell Tower climb, will be held in the quads surrounding the Bell Tower. Kenan Stadium gates will open at 11 a.m. and restrooms in the stadium will be open. Public parking will be available on a first come, first serve basis in the following lots: Bell Tower Deck, Rams Head Deck, Craige Deck, Jackson Deck, Cardinal Deck, Boshamer Lot and Bowles Lot. Disability parking will be available in the Rams Head Deck. All parking will be $5 per vehicle.
Also on campus that day is the UNC Science Expo, held on the main quad of campus from 10 a.m-3 p.m. Cameron Avenue will be closed from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. for the Science Expo.
• Charlotte Scrimmage, March 28, 7 p.m. - Mallard Creek High School
• Greensboro Scrimmage, April 5, 7 p.m. - Grimsley High School
The Tar Heels also will hold open scrimmages on Thursday, March 28, at Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte and on Friday, April 5, at Grimsley High School in Greensboro. Fans are encouraged to attend the scrimmages, which both begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to take the Carolina football team to Charlotte and Greensboro for open scrimmages," said Fedora. "We are reaching out to our fans and alums in the Charlotte and Greensboro areas and encouraging them to get a first-hand look at our football team. Charlotte and Greensboro have both always been an important area for Carolina athletics in many aspects."
The Rams Club and UNC Athletics will conduct a football tailgate at 5 p.m. from both Mallard Creek High School on March 28 and Grimsley High School on April 5. Each tailgate will feature an appearance by Coach Fedora. These events are open to all fans and admission is free. Food will be available for sale at the tailgates.
Concessions and Chapel Hill Sportswear merchandise will be on sale throughout the scrimmage. Parking is available at no charge at both high schools.
