Friday begins the 41st season of Carolina baseball at Boshamer Stadium and the 2013 season has several fan-friendly additions this spring.
Thanks to a generous donation by Carolina letterman Vaughn Bryson and other Carolina baseball supporters, Boshamer Stadium will boast a state-of-the-art video board for the 2013 season.
"This new video board will enhance the game day experience for our fans and allows us to showcase the many accomplishments of our players," head coach Mike Fox said.
In addition to the brand new video board, fans will have the chance to enjoy post-game fireworks after Saturday ACC contests. Fireworks are scheduled for:
• Saturday, March 30
• Saturday, April 6
• Saturday, April 20
• Friday, May 17
The Tar Heels will also be hosting several different event days throughout the season including Military Appreciation Day (April 20), a Ladies Clinic (March 11) and a special season ticket holder event (May 27).
Fans will notice significant upgrades in and around Boshamer Stadium in 2013. The Carolina Baseball Hall of Honor will be open during the entirety of games this season so fans can relive the great teams of Tar Heel history.
Fans that park in the Rams Head Parking Deck will experience a smoother exit on ACC weekends as the gate will remain open following the conclusion of games.
The Boshamer Stadium Lot will also be open to fans who want to park close to the action of pregrame festivities. Parking passes can be purchased for $5 for weekend games on GoHeels.com
"I am very excited for everything that will be going on at Boshamer Stadium this year," Fox added. "We listened to our fans and made changes that we think will increase their enjoyment."
The concessions will feature a new Jr. Tar Heel Menu that includes reduced price drinks and hot dogs at the first base grill, while the third base grandstand concession will feature $10 tailgate specials each ACC weekend series. The specials include:
• Miami series - Jerk-spiced half chicken, red beans and rice, braised greens and a drink
• Clemson series - Ribs/Brisket, potato salad, baked beans and a drink
• Maryland series - Fried soft-shell crab sandwich, sweet potato fries and a drink

Families will enjoy the return of the Coca-Cola Family Nights during midweek games as they can purchase 4 tickets, 4 drinks and 4 hot dogs all for $40.
Group tickets are also available for groups of 10 or more throughout the 2013 season.
The first pitch of the 2013 season is only a few days away as the Tar Heels open Friday, Feb. 15 against Seton Hall at 3 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium.
