CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina track and field teams will head to the Nebraska Invitational this Saturday for competition against the Huskers and the Alabama Crimson Tide in their first scored meet of the season.
The men's team of Nebraska jumped to No. 14 from their previous No. 28 ranking in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches poll.
The Tar Heels currently have five women ranked in the top 30 in the nation: Chrishawn Williams is 11th in the long jump, Ariel Roberts is tied for 23rd in the high jump, Briana Hudson is 24th in the triple jump, Cameron Overstreet is tied for 23rd in the pole vault, and Lianne Farber is 26th in the mile.
Carolina will also send distance front-runners Farber, Isaac Presson, and Patrick Schellberg to compete at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash., on Friday and Saturday in the women's mile, men's mile, and men's 5,000, respectively.
