CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. --- The North Carolina women's tennis team received the No. 6 seed and will face Texas A&M in the opening round of the 2013 ITA National Team Indoor Championships Friday afternoon at 3:30 at the Boar's Head Sports Club. The winner of the UNC-Texas A&M match will advance to meet the USC-Virginia winner in Saturday's quarterfinals.
The national indoor event has often been a showcase for the Tar Heels under head coach Brian Kalbas. In 2010, UNC advanced to the championship match against Northwestern, propelling the Tar Heels to the No. 1 ranking for the first time in school history.
Carolina (5-0) advanced to Charlottesville with a pair of 4-0 wins over No. 68 Auburn and No. 46 VCU in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Chapel Hill last month.
Live scoring for the entire event will be available at VirginiaSports.com.
