The North Carolina wrestling squad will be in search of its first ACC dual win of the season on Friday when the Tar Heels host rival NC State at Carmichael Arena at 7 p.m.
The Tar Heels own a 4-6 dual record on the season and are 0-3 in ACC duals, while NC State has posted a 3-3 dual mark and is 0-2 in the ACC.
Carolina captured the dual against NC State a year ago with a 20-18 win in Raleigh and are undefeated in its last seven meetings.
The Tar Heels have won six straight duals against the Wolfpack, dating back to a 16-16 tie in the 2006 season.
The duo of sophomore Evan Henderson and freshman Nathan Kraisser have paced the Tar Heels in 2013 and both enter the weekend ranked among the top seven in the country.
The top rankings mark the first time since Oct. 9, 2006 that two Carolina wrestlers have been ranked among the top seven in the country at the same time. Spencer Nodolsky and Evan Sola were the last pair to be ranked among the top seven in the nation for the Tar Heels.
Henderson checks in at No. 6 this week in the InterMat rankings at 141 lbs and has won four-straight matches and six of his last seven. The New Florence, Pa., native is 3-0 thus far in ACC competition.
Kraisser has burst onto the scene for the Tar Heels and is 26-4 in his first campaign. The Ellicott City, Md., native has won seven straight and 11 of his last 12.
The only meeting between the projected starters came at the Wolfpack Open between Henderson and NC State's Tyler Hunt as Henderson claimed a 16-5 major decision en route to the title.
