The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its preseason top 35 poll on Monday and Carolina checks in at No. 2 to start the 2013 season.

North Carolina leads seven other ACC schools in the initial poll as NC State is ranked No. 9, Florida State No. 11, Georgia Tech No. 21, Clemson No. 28, Miami No. 29 and Virginia No. 30.

The Tar Heels are a consensus top five team entering the 2013 season according to the major polls.

UNC opens the 2013 season on Friday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. when the Tar Heels host Seton Hall at Boshamer Stadium.
