The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Friday North Carolina's home and away conference opponents for the 2013 football season.
The Tar Heels will play host to Boston College, Duke, Miami and Virginia in Chapel Hill, and will travel to Georgia Tech, NC State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech. The complete 2013 ACC football schedule, including specific dates, will be announced by the conference in February.
As the conference did in its previous expansion in 2005, this year's schedule of league football opponents is an entirely new scheduling model that is not based off the previous schedule. Carolina's primary crossover opponent in the Atlantic Division remains NC State. This year's rotating crossover opponent is Boston College.
Carolina also completed its non-conference schedule with the addition of Middle Tennessee State on Sept. 7. The Tar Heels have seven home games next year, including four conference matchups, plus games with MTSU, East Carolina and Old Dominion.
Carolina opens the 2013 season at South Carolina.
The Tar Heels return 13 starters from last year's squad that went 8-4 and tied for the Coastal Division title.
