No. 25 Heels Host Weekend Doubleheader

CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina will play two games in as many days this weekend when the Tar Heels host non-conference opponents La Salle and UNC Asheville Saturday and Sunday at Carmichael Arena. Carolina is 4-0 on the season after winning the Preseason WNIT last Sunday at Iowa, 77-64. La Salle is 1-3 following a 49-48 win at Lehigh, while UNCA is 1-3 after a 77-50 win over Montreat. UNC is ranked No. 25 in the AP poll and is receiving votes in the coaches' poll. La Salle and UNCA are unranked.

La SALLE SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina and La Salle have never met in women's basketball.

UNC ASHEVILLE SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 4-0 all-time against UNC Asheville with all four meetings coming in Chapel Hill.
• The Tar Heels and Bulldogs last met in 2005, with Carolina winning by 40, 83-43.
• Carolina has won the four games in the series by an average of 39.0 points, with the 88-54 game in 1995 being the closest final.

TAR HEELS IN CARMICHAEL ARENA
• Carolina is 411-93 all-time in Carmichael, including a 38-10 record since the building re-opened after being closed for renovations from March 2008 to December 2009.
• The Tar Heels have won at least 13 home games in each of the last 11 seasons, including a school-record 18 during an undefeated 2007-08 home campaign.
• UNC has lost just 19 home games since the start of the 2001-02 season. The Tar Heels have been even more stingy against non-conference opponents, losing at home just twice outside of league play in the last decade.

IOWA CITY --- Tierra Ruffin-Pratt scored a game-high 22 points, Xylina McDaniel had her second double-double in four games and North Carolina won the Preseason WNIT for the second time, beating Iowa in convincing fashion, 77-64, Sunday afternoon at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. McDaniel finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds and her three-point play with 3:24 to go snuffed out Iowa's final threat of the day.
