NORFOLK, Va. - The UNC field hockey team arrived in Norfolk, Va., Wednesday evening to continue preparations for Friday's NCAA semifinal game against Syracuse.
Before boarding the bus for the 3.5 hour trip on Wednesday afternoon, the team held its final Henry Stadium workout of the season, the last practice there for nine Tar Heel seniors: Katie Ardrey, Jaclyn Gaudioso Radvany, Emily Kole, Kelsey Kolojejchick Meghan Lyons, Kate Nealon, Katie Plyler, Caitlin Powers and Caitlin Van Sickle.
Following dinner at the team hotel (which included an impromptu juggling competition with the stress ball provided as NCAA Championship souvenirs), the players had the rest of the evening off to relax and do school work.
On Thursday, the Tar Heels will hold a late-morning practice at the Powatan Sports Complex and then look forward to the NCAA Championship banquet in the evening.

UNC, 22-1, is making its 17th appearance in field hockey's final four. The Tar Heels have reached the national semifinal for the fourth year in a row and the fifth time in the past six years.
