Junior Rob Lovejoy earned ACC Player of the Week honors for the second time in three weeks on Tuesday as announced by the league office.
The Greensboro, N.C., native led the Tar Heels to a 2-0 week with a 3-0 win over top 40 RPI opponent Campbell on Tuesday before UNC downed NC State, 2-0, on Friday.
Lovejoy finished the week with a goal and an assist as he started both matches for the Tar Heels. The junior forward tallied the game-winning goal against NC State before providing a backheel pass to Danny Garcia to set up the second goal of the match.
Lovejoy becomes the second Tar Heel to claim ACC Player of the Week honors two times this season as Martin Murphy accomplished the feat early in the year.
The Tar Heels will close out the regular season on Thursday at 7 p.m. against Boston College at Fetzer Field.
