Prep: Graduated from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. on May 28, 2005...a five-time All-America selection there...swam the 1500-meter freestyle in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens for his home country of Malaysia...co-captained Bolles squad his senior year...named 2003 Florida state short course and long course swimmer of the year for the 15-16 age group...was part of three straight team state championship units as Bolles extended its string of state tiles to 17 in a row...as a senior, he was the state champion in the 200-yard individual medley and as a member of 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay teams while also taking second place in the 500-yard free...in his junior year, he captured the 500-yard freestyle and competed on the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard freestyle relay state championship squads...that same year he finished as a runnerup in the 200-yard individual medley...was part of two state championship relays as a sophomore ...finished third in the 1500-yard freestyle and was part of the winning 800-meter freestyle relay at the Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam...also competed in the 2003 Barcelona World Championships...a member of both the National Honor Society and French National Honor Society.
