CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Sophomore pole vaulter Cameron Overstreet will compete at the NCAA National Championships this week. The team left for Eugene, Ore., on Sunday but Overstreet took some time to talk with GoHeelsTV about her competitive year and her hopes for nationals.

Overstreet advanced out of the NCAA East Preliminary in a jump off, clearing 12-1 ½ (3.95 meters) to claim an official clearance of 13-1 ½ (4.00 meters) heading into the final.

She set an outdoor personal best at the ACC Championships, clearing 13-5 ¼ (4.10 meters) and ranks second all-time in the UNC record books with the mark. Overstreet earned All-ACC honors for each of her second-place finishes in the indoor and outdoor pole vault this season and also garnered top honors with her second-place finish in the Championship of America pole vault at the Penn Relays.

Overstreet also stands out in the classroom as she won All-ACC Academic Indoor honors and was named to the Dean's List for both semesters during the 2012-13 academic year.
