Duke Series Opener Moved To 1 PM Sat.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Due to inclement weather in the Chapel Hill area the first game of the UNC vs. Duke baseball series has been postponed until 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The series will begin at 1 p.m. and the second game will begin at the originally scheduled time of 6 p.m.

Tickets for Friday's game will be honored at the 1 p.m. game and tickets still remain for the contest. Tickets for the 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday contests are sold out.

North Carolina will send left-hander Kent Emanuel (7-1, 1.92 ERA) to mound Saturday afternoon, while Duke will counter with left-hander Trent Swart (4-2, 2.59 ERA).

The fourth set of Carolina Baseball Trading Cards will be available to fans attending Saturday afternoon's contest and sophomore pitcher Benton Moss will be performing the national anthem.

Game two is set for 6 p.m. Saturday night and the Tar Heels will be honoring area veterans with Military Appreciation Day. Several events will be taking place before and during the game to recognize the incredible efforts of local military personnel.

The Tar Heels will be donning camouflage jerseys on Saturday in support of Military Appreciation day.

Carolina will send right-hander Benton Moss (6-0, 3.00 ERA) to the mound against the Blue Devils and he will face Duke right-hander Drew Van Orden (2-4, 4.84 ERA).

Following Saturday night's game Boshamer Stadium will be lit up once again with the third installment of Fireworks at the Bosh.

The series finale will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday as the Kids Club Takes Over The Bosh. 

Left-handed pitcher Hobbs Johnson (1-0, 2.95 ERA) will throw for the Tar Heels against Duke's right-hander Robert Huber (5-3, 3.49 ERA).

Following Sunday's game both teams will shave their heads in support of the Vs. Cancer Foundation.
