GREENSBORO, N.C. --- North Carolina freshman forward Xylina McDaniel has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the sixth time in 2012-13, as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office and voted on by the Blue Ribbon Panel.

McDaniel earned her league-leading sixth ACC Rookie of the Week honor of the season after averaging 20.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in Carolina's 1-1 week. McDaniel just missed a double-double in Thursday's 76-56 win over Wake Forest, finishing with 15 points and nine rebounds.

At No. 19 Florida State, McDaniel scored a career-high 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting to lead all scorers. The Columbia, S.C., product added five rebounds and two assists and made both of her three-point attempts.

Carolina returns to the court Friday, Feb. 21, at Virginia Tech.
