Carolina Looking to Maintain Confidence
Release: 02/10/2013

North Carolina will face off with East Atlantic Gymnastics League rival George Washington and William and Mary for the second time this season on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.

The Tar Heels hosted the last meet in which these three teams met. UNC topped the competition with a 194.500 as the Tribe (1-5) came in second with a 192.925, and the Colonials (4-5) were a close third with 192.475.

Carolina, now 6-2, is coming off a big victory over another EAGL rival No. 17 Maryland. According to head coach Derek Galvin, the Tar Heels were able to put together their first full meet last week and will be looking to replicate the performance.

"We need to go in with the same focus and intensity as last week," said Galvin. "Their confidence level, after what they achieved last weekend, is higher, and with that confidence comes composure."

The Tar Heels will meet N.C. State and Pittsburgh in Raleigh Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
