Coming off a dominant 30-6 dual win over NC State a week ago, the No. 24 North Carolina Tar Heels return to action Friday when VMI visits Carmichael Arena at 7 p.m.
Friday night's dual will be Military Appreciation Night and former Tar Heel grappler and current Brigadier General Thomas Gorry will be in attendance.
Gorry was a four-year letterwinner for the Tar Heels from 1980-84 and served as the team's co-captain during his senior campaign.
The Tar Heels reentered the top 25 rankings this week as Intermat recognized UNC as No. 24 this week in the rankings.
Leading the way for the Tar Heels are sophomore 141-pounder Evan Henderson, who is ranked No. 6 this week, and freshman 125-pounder Nathan Kraisser, who is ranked No. 7.
Fellow freshman Joey Ward returned to action a week ago and is ranked No. 18 in the country among the 133-pounders.
The Tar Heels own a 5-6 dual mark on the year, while VMI enters with a 1-11 dual mark but are coming off a 36-0 win over Davidson and a 27-12 setback to George Mason.
