Release: 01/25/2013

North Carolina will travel to the Comcast Center to face East Atlantic Gymnastics League rival, No. 14 Maryland in a dual meet Jan. 26.

The Tar Heels (5-1) are coming off of a first place finish in a home tri-meet against William & Mary and George Washington Jan. 20. The team totaled a season-high 194.500 as Elizabeth Durkac, a senior and team captain, led the way with a personal best 39.300 in the all-around.

For her performance, Durkac was awarded EAGL Gymnast of the Week honors alongside Kathy Tang, a freshman at Maryland. The two will face off Saturday, hoping to hoist their teams to victory.

Maryland will be looking to extend its 3-0-1 record in the Terrapins' first home meet of the season. The competition will begin at 7 p.m.
