Four North Carolina men's soccer players were named to Soccer America's MVP Teams on Monday as Mikey Lopez, Scott Goodwin, Danny Garcia and Jonathan Campbell were all honored.
Sophomore midfielder Mikey Lopez was named to the Soccer America MVP First Team after appearing in 21 matches for the Tar Heels and tallying two goals and an assist.
Senior Scott Goodwin was named the Soccer America MVP Second Team goalkeeper for his performance in 2012 as he set a new UNC single season record with 17 shutouts.
Both Lopez and Goodwin will take part in the MLS Combine beginning Friday, Jan. 11 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
A pair of freshmen also earned recognition from Soccer America as ACC Freshman of the Year Danny Garcia was named to the Soccer America All-Freshman First Team.
Garcia was joined on the All-Freshman Team by defender Jonathan Campbell, who was a second team selection.
