CHICAGO -- Three North Carolina men's soccer players were called into the last U.S. U-20 training camp of the year as Mikey Lopez and Boyd Okwuonu were joined by Danny Garcia.
The training camp is set to run from Dec. 15-22 in Sunrise, Fla. and will be the last of 2012 before the team gears up for the 2013 CONCACAF Championship set to begin Feb. 18 in Puebla, Mexico.
The sophomore duo of Okwuonu and Lopez have been called into nearly every U-20 training camp over the past year and a half and are in good position to earn a spot on the squad.
Freshman forward Danny Garcia will also be vying for a spot on the team as he is also part of the 24-man team called into this week's camp.
The team will play an intrasquad scrimmage on Dec. 18 before taking on Venezuela on Dec. 21.
The final four teams in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship will earn a spot in the 2013 U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
