NFL Update: Week Fifteen

Former Tar Heel defensive lineman Julius Peppers continues to stuff the stat sheet well into his career. The 12th year veteran had four unassisted tackles and helped out on another takedown in a 21-13 loss to the Packers. He also added another sack and a half to his season numbers, bringing his total to 8.5 on the year and 108.5 for his career.

 

Other former Tar Heels in action this weekend include:

 

Marvin Austin, NY Giants - Austin was listed as inactive for the Giants' loss to the Falcons on Sunday.

 

Connor Barth, Tampa Bay - The Buccaneers failed to register a point in a 41-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Barth is converting his kicks at an 83% clip and has six field goals of 50 or more yards.

 

Zach Brown, Tennessee - Brown and the Titans will be featured on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets.

 

Quinton Coples, NY Jets - Coples will join his former teammate Brown on Monday Night Football, this time as a member of the opposing team.

 

Bruce Carter, Dallas - The Cowboys placed Carter on injured reserved for the season after an elbow injury he suffered on Thanksgiving. At the point of his injury, he led Dallas in tackles.

 

Shaun Draughn, Kansas City -. Draughn caught three balls out of the backfield for a total of 11 yards. The Chiefs dropped the contest 15-0.

 

Vonnie Holliday, Arizona - The Cardinals stopped a nine game losing streak with a 38-10 win over the Lions. Holliday and the defense forced four turnovers on the afternoon.

 

Greg Little, Cleveland - The second year wide out led all receivers with 74 yards on five receptions in the Browns' 38-21 loss to the Washington Redskins. He now has 551 receiving yards on the year.

 

Michael McAdoo, Baltimore - The Ravens placed McAdoo on injured reserved for the season following Achilles surgery.

 

Hakeem Nicks, NY Giants - Nicks led the Giants in targets with seven, and he hauled in three balls for 40 yards. On the season, Nicks has 53 receptions for 692 yards.

 

Robert Quinn, St. Louis - Quinn made the most of his one tackle on Sunday, making his stop behind the line of scrimmage. The Rams lost to the Vikings 36-22.

 

Garrett Reynolds, Atlanta - The Falcons placed Reynolds on injured reserved for the season with a lower back injury. Reynolds started the first six games of the season before getting hurt.

 

Jeff Saturday, Green Bay - Saturday and the Packers' offense rolled to 391 yards on the afternoon, leading to a 21-13 win over the Chicago Bears. The victory locked up the NFC North title for Green Bay.

 

Da'Norris Searcy, Buffalo - The second year safety made three stops on Sunday, one of which was unassisted. The Bills allowed the Seahawks to rack up 50 points in a 50-17 loss.

 

Gerald Sensabaugh, Dallas - Sensabaugh had four unassisted tackles on the afternoon and five total stops. He now has 49 tackles with two more games to play.

 

Brandon Tate, Cincinnati - The return specialist had 62 yards on three kick returns with a long of 33. He also returned two punts for 17 yards. The Bengals won 34-13.

 

Ryan Taylor, Green Bay - Taylor and the Packers' special team unit held the Bears to 105 total return yards on the afternoon. Green Bay won the game 21-13.

 

Cam Thomas, San Diego - Thomas tallied a season high three tackles in the Chargers' loss on Sunday. Two of his stops were unassisted. He now has 14 tackles on the year.

 

Greg Warren, Pittsburgh - The veteran long snapper helped the Steelers average 40 yards on six punts. The kicking team also connected on all three extra points and their only field goal attempt.

 

Johnny White, Green Bay - White was active for the Packers' win and saw time on special teams. Green Bay's victory secured them the NFL North title.

 

TJ Yates, Houston - The Texans improved to 12-2 on the year by defeating the Colts 29-17. Yates continues to back-up quarterback Matt Schaub, who threw for 261 yards and a touchdown in the win.
