Three Tar Heels were named to the College Soccer News All-America squads as senior goalkeeper Scott Goodwin and sophomore defender Boyd Okwuonu were named second team and sophomore midfielder Mikey Lopez was named to the third team.

The All-America honor is the first for Goodwin after shattering the school record for shutouts in a season with 17 in his final campaign. Goodwin finished the year surrendering just seven goals for the sixth-lowest goals against average in NCAA history at 0.29.

Okwuonu was named to the second team for the third time this season after being honored by the NSCAA and Top Drawer Soccer as well. Okwuonu started 21 matches along the Tar Heel backline that will go down as one of the top defenses in school history.

Lopez also garnered his third All-America honor of the year after notching a pair of goals and an assist during the 2012 season. Lopez was a constant figure in the Tar Heel midfield for Carolina.
