CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Three Tar Heel women's soccer players - Crystal Dunn, Kealia Ohai and Amber Brooks - have been named Friday to the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division I All-America Teams.
Dunn, a junior midfielder from Rockville Centre, N.Y., was named to the first-team All-America squad for the second time. She also garnered first-team honors in 2010 as a freshman and was named to the third team in 2011.
This marks the first time that either Ohai or Brooks have been named to an NSCAA All-America Team. Ohai is a junior forward from Draper, Utah, and Brooks is a senior midfielder from New Hope, Pa.
Seventeen of the student-athletes named to the All-America teams were making repeat selections on the NSCAA Team. Fifteen players who were announced earlier this week as semifinalists for the 2012 MAC Hermann Trophy appear on either the first or second teams.
These student-athletes will be recognized on Saturday, January 19 at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in conjunction with the 2013 NSCAA Convention in Indianapolis.North Carolina will plat top-ranked Stanford Friday night at 11 p.m. EST (8 p.m. PST) in the NCAA semifinals at Torero Stadium in San Diego, Calif.
