Freshmen Jonathan Campbell and Danny Garcia were named to the College Soccer News All-Freshman First Team on Wednesday for their performance this year.
Campbell and Garcia were among the top 11 freshmen in the country according to College Soccer News as the duo helped lead Carolina to a fourth-straight ACC regular season title.
Campbell has helped anchor the top defense in the country, starting all 21 matches at center back for the Tar Heels. Carolina has surrendered just six goals this season, the fewest in the country. The Greensboro, N.C., native has also added a goal and an assist this season.
Garcia ranks second on the squad with 14 points this season as he has tallied four goals and a team-high six assists. For his efforts this season, Garcia was named the ACC Freshman of the Year. The Dallas, Texas, native also earned All-ACC Second Team honors.
The Tar Heels will host No. 16 seed Indiana on Friday at 6 p.m. with a trip to the College Cup on the line.
