For the fifth straight year, supporters and fans of the University of North Carolina baseball program will have the opportunity to kick off the upcoming season with a memorable evening at the Diamond Heels' First Pitch Dinner, scheduled for Feb. 2, 2013, at the Loudermilk Center For Excellence on the UNC campus.
This year's event will feature several former Tar Heels in the Major Leagues, including the inspiring story of Adam Greenberg's trip back to the Majors and his 'One At-Bat' campaign that culminated with a one-day contract with the Miami Marlins.
Also set to be in attendance is former Tar Heel Matt Harvey. The New York Met right-hander will be on hand to recap his phenomenal rookie campaign. Other Major Leaguers invited to attend include Adam Warren, Luke Putkonen and Kyle Seager.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the 2013 Tar Heels and this year's senior class will preview the upcoming season.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with an MVP Reception with the featured speakers and other Carolina baseball alums prior to a silent auction and autograph session with the 2013 Tar Heels at 6 p.m. The program will get underway at 7 p.m.
