LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Lianne Farber will race in the women's NCAA Cross Country National Championship race on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park after earning a spot for her fifth-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Charlotte last weekend.

This is Farber's first trip to the national championship meet, a culmination of training and top finishes, including her first win of her collegiate career, this season.

Farber's win came at the adidas XC Challenge in Cary, N.C., on Sept. 14th. She ran the course at WakeMed Park in 17:00.05, one of the fastest times ever recorded by a female runner there.

Farber has broken her personal bests in both the cross 5K and 6K this season. Her 5K PR came after repeating a 17-minute flat finish at the Notre Dame Invitational just two weeks after the adidas XC Challenge. Her 6K PR of 20:05 came on Oct. 12th at the Wisconsin Invitational where she paced herself to a 17th-place finish amongst the top runners in the country.

Full coverage of Farber's performance at the NCAA National Championship meet will be available following her race on GoHeels.com. For more information on the meet, visit the NCAA.com.
