• North Carolina is 3-0 all-time against Davidson and 2-0 against the Wildcats in Chapel Hill.
• The Tar Heels and Wildcats have met just twice in the last 10 years - an 86-48 UNC win in 2005 and a 68-46 Tar Heel victory in 2002. Both of those meetings were the season opener for Carolina.
• Prior to 2002, the two schools had not met in women's basketball since Carolina's inaugural season of 1974-75. The Tar Heels were 80-31 road winners that season.

• The Tar Heels will look to post their 12th straight win in a season opener Friday afternoon.
• Carolina last lost its opener in 2000, when the Tar Heels fell to Buffalo, 95-89. That also marks the last time UNC did not play its opener in Chapel Hill.
• Carolina is 33-5 all-time in season openers, including a 22-4 mark under Sylvia Hatchell.
• UNC routed Gardner-Webb, 109-44, in the 2011-12 opener. The 109 points were the second-most by a Tar Heel team in a season opener since 1982-83, when Carolina started its season with a 114-50 victory at Appalachian State. UNC scored 110 in its 2010-11 opener against North Florida.
