UNC To Host Radford In NCAA First Round

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -  North Carolina has received a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament and will play host to a first round match this Saturday at 5 p.m. against Big South Conference champion Radford at Fetzer Field.

Tickets for Saturday's match are priced at $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.  Tickets can be purchased in advance at GoHeels.com Ticket Center.  Tickets will also be on sale the day of the game with the Carmichael Arena Ticket Office opening at 4 p.m.  Gates to Fetzer Field will also open at 4 p.m.

North Carolina enters NCAA Tournament play at 10-5-2.  The Tar Heels are a No. 2 seed in the lower left quadrant of the tournament bracket.  Radford comes to Chapel Hill with a 14-2-4 mark.  The Highlanders are the champions of the Big South Conference.  Seeded teams in the lower left quadrant include No. 1 BYU, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Baylor and No. 4 Marquette.

The winner of the UNC-Radford game will play the winner of a first-round game this coming weekend between Missouri and Illinois.  That game will be played in Columbia, Mo.  A win over Radford would mean UNC would be entitled to host an NCAA regional, which NCAA approval, on Friday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 18 at Fetzer Field.
