Senior goalkeeper Scott Goodwin was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 squad on Thursday for the third straight year.

Goodwin was named Second Team Academic All-America a year ago after being named to the Academic All-District Second Team as a sophomore.

The Raleigh, N.C., native is set to graduate in 3.5 years with a degree in biology and a double minor in chemistry and mathematics.

Goodwin has helped lead Carolina to a share of the ACC and set a new Carolina school record with 13 shutouts in 2012. Goodwin and the Tar Heels surrendered an NCAA-leading four goals this season.

The Tar Heels will host Duke in an ACC Quarterfinal match on Tuesday at 7 p.m. with a trip to Germantown, Md. for the ACC Semifinals on the line.
