GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina sophomore Natalie Ritter and Georgia Tech senior Brandon Makinson have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Female and Male Divers of the Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office. North Carolina seniors Stephanie Peacock and Brett Nagle were recognized as the Female and Male Swimmers of the Week.

Peacock, the 2011-12 ACC Women's Swimmer of the Year, started her junior season with wins in the 1000- and 500-yard freestyle against Texas A&M and South Carolina. The Cape Coral, Fla., native also finished in second in the 200 free and as a member of the 400 freestyle relay.

A senior from Alberta, Canada, Makinson won both springboard diving events against College of Charleston and broke his own school record on the 3-meter board. His score of 408.85 bettered his previous record of 408.10 that he set at the 2011 ACC Championship.

Nagle, a co-captain for the Tar Heels, won the 1000-yard freestyle and finished in fourth in the 500 free to help the Tar Heel men sweep Texas A&M and South Carolina.  The native of Portland, Oreg., touched the wall first in the 1000 in 9:14.82 and fourth in the 500, just .55 seconds behind first place.

Ritter posted two top-five finishes in the tri-meet against Texas A&M and South Carolina. In the 1-meter springboard, the Columbus, Ohio, native scored 233.20, good for fifth place, and added a score of 262.45 on the 3-meter to help the Tar Heels earn a split of the meet.
