TULSA, OKLA. - Esben Hess-Olesen and a UNC doubles team advanced on Tuesday on the second day of Qualifying at the 2012 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships being held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa.
Esben Hess-Olesen, a sophomore from Viby, Denmark, won his second-round singles match by defeating Marko Krickovic of Baylor in three sets. Junior teammate Nelson Vick lost his second round singles match in straight sets to Dennis Mkrtchian of UCLA.
In doubles Tuesday, freshman Brett Clark and senior William Parker combined to go 2-0 to advance to the third round of Qualifying Doubles on Wednesday. Hess-Olesen and Vick split their two doubles matches, falling in the second round to the eighth-seeded team from Mississippi State.
