Tar Heels Celebrate Heeloween At Children's Hospital
Release: 10/31/2013

Patients at UNC Children's Hospital couldn't go out trick or treating on Thursday night, so Tar Heels student-athletes brought the trick or treating to them. Or the treats, anyway.

More than 30 Carolina student-athletes, representing the women's lacrosse, gymnastics, swimming & diving, baseball and track & field teams, visited the hospital Thursday evening to celebrate "Heeloween" with patients there. They painted pumpkins, visited rooms and distributed Halloween goodies.

"I know the reason that I wanted to go to the Children's Hospital this year was because I remember how much fun I had as a child going trick or treating, dressing up and eating lots of candy," said Zoe Skinner, a senior on the women's lacrosse team. "The children we visited tonight unfortunately don't have that same opportunity this year, so visiting the hospital gave us all a chance to bring the Halloween spirit to these wonderful kids."
