Chapel Hill, N.C. - The 37th annual Carolina Executive Cup Golf Tournament, the fundraiser for the men's and women's golf teams, will be played on Saturday, Nov. 2, at UNC Finley Golf Course. There will be a continental breakfast starting at 9 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 10. An added attraction taking place at 9:30 is the dedication of the renovated Finley Clubhouse, recognizing those individuals who made the project possible.
That evening, after a fun day of golf, the reception and silent auction will take place at 6 p.m. at The Blue Zone followed by the A.E. Finley Banquet at 7, honoring all Carolina alumni golfers. The highlight of the banquet will be the induction of former Tar Heel head coach Devon Brouse into the Carolina Golf Order of Merit, which honors those who have distinguished themselves in the game and for their overall contributions to the golf program at the University. Brouse, already a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America's Hall of Fame, served as the golf director and men's golf coach for 21 years, 1977-98 and turned the Tar Heel golf program into one of the top teams in the country. Brouse's teams competed in 19 NCAA Championships, finishing in the top-10 10 times and the top-20 17 times. His teams captured six Atlantic Coast Conference titles.
