CHAPEL HILL – The University of North Carolina track and field teams are pleased to announce their 2014 schedule, which includes hosting six indoor meets, two outdoor meets, and the 2014 ACC Outdoor Championships. The full schedule is available here.
The Tar Heels will open their 2014 indoor campaign at home with the Gene Anderson Invitational on Friday, January 17th and the Joe Hilton Invitational on Saturday, January 18th. Carolina will also honor former coach and soon-to-be USTFCCCA Coaches Hall of Fame inductee Dennis Craddock with a meet in his name on Saturday, February 22nd.
The indoor meet schedule also features meets at Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, and the elite Armory Collegiate Invitational. The indoor season will close with the ACC Indoor Championships in Clemson, S.C., February 27th through March 1st and the NCAA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., March 14-15th.
Carolina's outdoor season opens at home with the two-day Carolina Relays on Friday, March 21st, through Saturday, March 22nd. The Tar Heels will travel to Texas, Florida, Stanford, Duke, NC State, Virginia, and Georgia Tech in addition to the historic Penn Relays during the outdoor campaign.
The Tar Heels will host the 2014 ACC Outdoor Championships April 17-19th, marking the first time UNC has hosted the outdoor track and field conference meet since 2004. The NCAA East Preliminary Round will take place March 29-31st in Jacksonville, Fla., followed by the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 11-14th.
