The NBA schedule can be a little daunting. But only certain games really matter to Tar Heel fans. Follow the below ten games, and you'll see every Carolina alum currently active in the NBA at least once during the course of the 2013-14 season.
Oct. 29, 10:30 p.m., TNT: Clippers (Reggie Bullock/Antawn Jamison) at Lakers. There's just something about seeing a Tar Heel make his NBA debut. Reggie Bullock will do it in a bright spotlight, as his first game with the Doc Rivers-coached Clippers will come against the Lakers on national television.
Nov. 2, 8:30 p.m., FSN Wisconsin: Toronto (Tyler Hansbrough) at Milwaukee (John Henson): There are two places you could see this matchup: in the Smith Center during summemr pickup games, or on the first weekend of the NBA season.
Dec. 25, 10:30 p.m., ESPN: Clippers (Bullock/Jamison) at Warriors (Harrison Barnes). The presents will already be opened and everyone else will be in bed. Meanwhile, you'll be parked in front of the television for what should be a very entertaining game in one of the best atmospheres in the NBA.
Jan. 8, 7 p.m., ESPN: Mavericks (Wayne Ellington, Vince Carter and Brandan Wright) at Spurs (Danny Green). Dallas has become Chapel Hill West, as they've assembled the most Tar Heels (three) on any roster in the NBA. The Chapel Hill-to-Dallas pipeline is especially interested given Mark Cuban's lengthy recent comments on the importance of culture in building a team. Meanwhile, Green was one of the biggest stories of the 2013 NBA Finals.
Jan. 24, 7:30 p.m., FSN Wisconsin: Bucks (John Henson) at Cavs (Tyler Zeller). Two former teammates who earned praise in this year's Summer League face off in Cleveland. If you miss this one, don't worry--the Bucks and Cavs play four times during the season.
Feb. 7, 7:30 p.m., MSG, Nuggets (Ty Lawson) at Knicks (Raymond Felton). In what is essentially a Tar Heel fantasy game, the last two Carolina national champion point guards face off at Madison Square Garden. The other matchup is Nov. 29 in Denver...at least one of these two should be required viewing for every Carolina fan.
Feb. 25, 7 p.m., FSOhio: Toronto (Tyler Hansbrough) at Cavs (Zeller). Again, a battle of two national champions and two former ACC Players of the Year. Cleveland is sneakily more fun to watch than you might think.
March 19, 8 p.m., SportSouth: Utah (Marvin Williams) at Memphis (Ed Davis). Two Tar Heels who left early, but both of whom left with national titles, meet in Memphis. Davis had trouble earning a spot in the rotation after a trade to Memphis and will look to find more time in 2014.
March 21, 8:30 p.m., FSSW: Nuggets (Lawson) at Mavericks (Carter, Wright and Ellington). There's just something about seeing Lawson and Ellington on the floor together in March that brings back good memories...
April 3, 10:30 p.m., TNT: Mavericks (Ellington/Carter/Wright) at Clippers (Bullock/Jamison): For those of us of a certain age, it's impossible to think of Carter and Jamison separately. Depending on the direction of their careers after this season, this could be the last chance to see them on the floor together. Plus, Bullock against Ellington.
