Senior (2016) -- Named the co-National Goalie of the Year with teammate Caylee Waters by ILWomen ... Named to Inside Lacrosse’s All-ILWomen Team ... The starting goalie in wins in the 2013 and 2016 NCAA championship games for the Tar Heels ... Named to the All-NCAA Tournament Team in 2016 ... Made a career-high 14 saves in the NCAA championship game against Maryland ... Named second-team All-South by the IWLCA ... One of the nation’s top goalies ... Started each of the last eight games of the 2016 season in goal for UNC ... Entered the NCAA Tournament with a hot hand, having won six consecutive games in the cage (vs. #5 Louisville, at #4 Syracuse, vs. #13 Duke, at Virginia Tech, vs. #13 Duke and vs. #4 Syracuse) ... Played over 440 minutes in the cage, making 52 saves and allowing 57 goals with a save percentage of .477 and a goals-against average of 7.77 ... Led the ACC in goals-against average and was third in save percentage ... Played over 73 minutes in three NCAA Tournament games, posting a save percentage of .467 with a goals-against average of 6.57 ... Came off the bench to play the second half in the NCAA quarterfinal win over Penn State, allowing just one goal to pick up the victory and send UNC to the NCAA semifinals ... Made a season-high seven saves in the ACC Tournament versus Virginia Tech ... Also had six saves against Virginia and Virginia Tech in the regular season ... Credited with the win in goal in the season-opener versus James Madison ... Had a season-high four ground balls in the win over Virginia and three in a loss at Maryland ... Sophomore (2014) - One of the nation's top goalies ... Earned second-team All-ACC honors in goal ... Led the ACC and ranked ninth in the nation in save percentage at .480 ... Was fifth in the ACC and 40th nationally in goals-against average at 9.42 ... Posted an 11-3 record in the cage, making 11 starts ... Two-time ACC Defensive Player of the Week in 2014 (Feb. 11, April 7) ... Earned the honor on April 7 for her efforts in the win over Maryland in Chapel Hill ... Came off the bench and played the final 41:15 to pick up the win in the cage the No. 2-ranked Terrapins on April 5 ... Had a then season-high-tying nine saves and held the Terrapins scoreless for over 15 minutes as UNC went on a 7-1 run to seize control of the game ... Started 18 games in a row in goal (the seven of 2013 and the first 11 of 2014) prior to not playing on March 31 at Northwestern ... Often played the first half of Tar Heel games earlier this season before giving way to Caylee Waters, who typically played the second halves ... The two reversed roles in the last month of the season with Waters starting and Ward playing in the second half... Named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after the win over No. 4 Florida ... Went the distance in the cage for the Tar Heels, making a season-high nine saves and gathering two ground balls, limiting the Gators (who averaged nearly 15 goals per game last season) to just eight goals ... Allowed four first-half goals in a pair of first-half wins over Boston University and Notre Dame ... Played the second half and overtime against Duke, allowing three goals in 36:00 minutes while making five saves ... Was brilliant against top-ranked Syracuse in the ACC semifinals, making a season-high 11 saves in the second half alone ... Freshman (2013) - One of the top freshman goalies in the nation ... Started the last seven games of the season (the regular season finale at Vanderbilt, both ACC Tournament games and all four NCAA Tounament games) ... Made her first career start in the cage at Vanderbilt on April 20, picking up the victory ... Also started and won the ACC semifinal against Boston College, tying her then-season high with seven saves (including six in the second half) ... Played all 60 minutes in the ACC final against Maryland ... Came off the bench in 11 other games earlier in the season ... Posted a total record of 7-2 in goal ...Began the season often playing the second half of games in a pre-arranged splitting of duties with third-year starter Lauren Maksym ... Made eight saves in the ACC championship game loss to Maryland ... Tallied a season-high 12 saves in 55:02 of action in the NCAA second round win over Loyola, allowing eight goals ... Made seven saves in the NCAA quarterfinal win over Virginia ... Held Northwestern to four goals (tying the Wildcats' season low) in the NCAA semifinals, making seven saves ...
