In his third year on the active roster • A valuable backup point guard • One of the hardest workers on the team • Has 35 assists in 41 games as a Tar Heel  • Transferred to UNC from Gardner-Webb after playing for the Bulldogs in 2010-11 • Sat out the 2011-12 season as a redshirt at Carolina.

 

JUNIOR SEASON (2013-14)

Second year on the active roster • Played at Gardner-Webb in 2010-11 before transferring to UNC • Has 35 assists in 41 games as a Tar Heel • Averaged 6.2 minutes in 21 games this year • Has 11 assists and five turnovers this year • Played last four minutes of the first half in win at Florida State and did not allow FSU leading scorer Ian Miller to attempt a field goal in that time • Started second half vs. Northern Kentucky as UNC went on 5-0 run to extend lead back to 10 points • Played a career-high 25 minutes and was UNC's defensive player of the game vs. Belmont • Sparked second-half run against Holy Cross with solid play on both ends of the court while playing alongside Marcus Paige • Two points and had two assists in opener vs. Oakland.

 

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2012-13)

Played in 20 games • Had 24 assists and seven turnovers • Sat out the 2011-12 season as a transfer from Gardner-Webb • Returned to active status against his former school in UNC's season opener • Scored his first basket as a Tar Heel on a three-pointer against Florida Atlantic • Had  five points and seven assists in the win over Chaminade • The seven assists were the most by a Tar Heel in the team's first seven games • Played a season-high 14 minutes and was Carolina's top defender against the Silver Swords • Had five assists and no turnovers against ETSU.

 

AT GARDNER-WEBB
Named to the Big South Conference All-Freshman Team • Was third in the league in assists • Started 30 of the 32 games in which he played for Gardner-Webb and played a team-high 32.3 minutes per game • Averaged 7.2 points, had 135 assists and 95 turnovers • Made 41 of 126 (.325) from three-point range and 46 of 62 (.742) from the free throw line • Scored in double figures six times with a high of 17 against Liberty • Had a season-high 10 assists against Radford • Had more assists than turnovers in 18 games, including 10 of the last 13 games • Set a freshman record for assists at Gardner-Webb with 135.

PREP

Played for Coach Kevin Billerman at Ravenscroft High School • Earned first-team Class 3A NCISAA all-state honors as a senior • Earned first-team All-Area honors for private schools from TriangleHoops.com • TISA Conference Player of the Year • First-team all-area by HighSchoolOT.com • Helped lead Ravenscroft to the state finals as a junior • Teamed with future Duke forward Ryan Kelly • Earned All-Conference honors and was named to the All-Tournament team at the prestigious GlaxoSmithKline Holiday Invitational in Raleigh two times • Also attended Broughton High School where he led the Caps in scoring with 14.7 points per game in 2008 • Named Cap-7 Conference Player of the Year and first-team All-District 5.

Double-majoring in sociology and communication studies • Luke Dickson Davis is the son of Pete and Debbie Davis • Born on April 9, 1991, in Raleigh • His father played professional basketball in Greece • His older brother attended UNC • His younger brother plays football at NC State.
